Privacy policy

Your selected audio and video files stay in your browser.

This policy describes the Reel to Words website and its file-based transcription tool.

Media and transcripts

File decoding and speech recognition run locally in your browser. The tool does not send your selected audio, video or transcript to our server or to a third-party transcription service. It does not create an account or save a transcript history.

Copying places the selected text on your clipboard. Downloading saves a file on your device. These actions happen only when you use the corresponding controls. Closing or reloading the tab clears the tool’s in-memory working state; any downloads and clipboard contents are controlled by your device.

Website and model requests

Your browser requests the pages, scripts, styles, speech model and runtime files needed to use the tool. Cloudflare hosts and delivers these files and may process connection and request information, such as IP addresses, requested URLs, browser information and security signals, to deliver and protect the website. These requests do not contain your selected media or generated transcript. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.

Cookies and analytics

The transcription application does not set advertising cookies or run third-party analytics. Ordinary browser caching may retain website resources on your device. Hosting and security behavior is subject to Cloudflare’s services.

Future third-party advertising

We plan to introduce third-party advertising in the future. No advertising code is included in this version. Before enabling it, we will update this policy to identify the providers and explain relevant data collection, cookies and choices. Media will continue to be processed in your browser.

Email correspondence

If you email us through the contact address, your email provider and our mail forwarding and inbox providers process that message. We use messages to respond to questions and maintain the service. Do not send media files or sensitive personal information when a description of the issue is sufficient. We cannot promise a fixed retention period for email correspondence.

Your choices and questions

You can close the tool, clear this site’s browser data, or delete downloaded files using your browser and device controls. For questions about this policy or your correspondence, use the contact page.
